
There are six long narrow rear gardens in a row in the Annex, each with a single narrow archway midway in the fence opening onto the adjacent garden. Standing in the middle of the end garden you can see – enfilade– all six in a row. All the kids and neighbours run back and forth, using each of the separately designed gardens, sharing their private enclaves. (Wells Street)
We have made 2 fences that incorporate mirrors. The depth it creates was predictable. The feeling of exposure, as if the fence is breached, wasn’t.
